Northern NSW : Winter 2014 redo
A farming accident two years ago prompted the owner of Centennial Herefords, Paul Rogers, to become part of the Tag a Calf program in support of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Grateful to this life-saving Service, Paul donated a prized Hereford heifer for auction at the Hereford National Show in May. The ten-month-old heifer sold for $5,000. 'The Service was excellent and it's definitely something we need,' he said. Herefords Australia is an agricultural partner of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Summer fun was turned upside down when four-year- old Yvette Krueger fell from play equipment during the family's planned holiday to Port Macquarie. On route the family stopped at the Green Valley Farm at Tingha in January where Yvette fell and suffered suspected head injuries. The paramedics took the necessary precautions and transported Yvette by road ambulance to Inverell Hospital. She was later airlifted by the Rescue Helicopter to Tamworth Base Hospital where she spent the night under observation. Yvette was released from hospital and the family continued their holiday. Yvette's parents, Sean and Marketa, sent a letter of thanks to the Service, specifically thanking the crew for their support throughout their ordeal. Enclosed was a photo of a very happy four year old enjoying her summer holiday on the beach - fully recovered from her fall.
