Our work for our community 1 BUSHWALKER : A 65 year old male experienced disorientation and collapsed while guiding bushwalkers through Guy Fawkes National Park. A distress beacon was activated and the Rescue Helicopter was able to locate the group and treat the patient. 2 HORSE RIDING INJURY: The Rescue Helicopter was tasked with treating and transpor ting a 62 year old female. The patient suffered a loss of consciousness as well as shoulder/back injuries after being thrown from a horse. 3 QUAD BIKE FALL: A 16 year old male from Garah was injured when he fell from his quad bike. The patient was met at Moree Hospital and transported to Tamworth Base Hospital. 4 INTERNAL BLEEDING: A 37 year old female was transported from Newton Boyd to Coffs Harbour Hospital with a fractured pelvis and internal bleeding due to a collision with a tree. 5 SEIZURES: An 8 year old girl from Barraba was transported to John Hunter Hospital via Tamworth, experiencing fitting/seizures. 6 THROWN FROM A BULL: A 16 year old male was transported from Stroud to John Hunter Hospital Suffering from chest and shoulder injuries sustained when he was thrown from a bull and then stomped on at the Stroud Rodeo. 7 MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT: A 46 year old female was transported from the scene of a motor vehicle accident near Gloucester to John Hunter Hospital suffering shoulder, chest and leg injuries. Summar y missions In the past three months the Ser vice has been called to assist: 72 Primary Missions 94 Inter Hospital transfers 2 Search & Rescue Our work in the community extends from the Hunter, Central coast and Mid Nor th Coast to the New England – North West regions.
