Volunteers at work The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is for tunate to have people in the community who dedicate their time, energy and money to supporting the Service. Service Company Secretary, Peter Alcock, presented Dinner Coordinator, Lynn Slack, with a framed certificate of appreciation for her role in the 15 years of the event and for her many years as secretary of the Gloucester Volunteer Support Group. Mr Alcock also presented 15 year service badges to original members of the group, John and Barbara Ikin, Geoff and Lynn Slack, Brian Clarke and Mary Forbes. Father ’s Day Raffle The annual Cessnock Volunteer Suppor t Group Father’s Day raffles were again a success in 2013. The raffles held at Cessnock Plaza raised a total of $2,187.55 for the ser vice. Maitland Women’s Bowls day Maitland Women’s Bowls Charity Committee has been raising money for charities over the past 51 years. Along with many other charities, they are a major supporter of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. The Committee’s annual Women’s Charity Bowls Day was held at Telarah Bowling Club in August and is supported by Telarah, Beresfield, East Maitland, Maitland City, Maitland Park and Lorn Park bowling clubs. The event raised more than $1,200 for four charity organisations; Camp Quality, Maitland Palliative Care, Hunter Prelude and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
