Page 10 Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service - Rescue Spring 2012 MEET THE TEAM CHAD GRIFFITH BUSINESS MANAGER Before joining the Service in May this year, Chad was the CEO of Surf Life Saving Central Coast and is well known for his work in community events such as the Lake Macquarie Running Festival and Newcastle Trans Tasman Masters Games. He has a Business degree from the University of Newcastle and is an outstanding competitor in Surf Lifesaving Open Board and Iron man events. He is also a dad to triplets. Chad and his team will work across the Service’s many sponsors and partners, volunteer groups and community on a spectacular range of events and activities throughout the Hunter, Central Coast, Mid North Coast, New England and North West. MICHAEL WILSON COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER – NEW ENGLAND NORTH WEST Mick has been working in the New England-North West for almost 12 months looking after the Agricultural Program, assisting with Payroll Deduction Program and our volunteer groups. His region spans from Coonabarabran, Gunnedah, Moree, Narrabri and Wee Waa in the North West. If you didn’t think that was a big enough task, Mick and his wife Mel recently welcomed twin boys Benjamin and Thomas. ADAM TYRRELL COMMUNIT Y LIAISON OFFICER - HUNTER Adam is based in the Hunter and joined the team earlier this year and brings his enthusiasm for working with community organisations. From a very young age, Adam has donated his time to raise money for the Children’s Ward of John Hunter Hospital as well as the Starlight Foundation. In the final year of his university degree, Adam is excited to be working full-time with the Service. His role involves working with corporate clients who donate to the service including 400 local organisations who are part of the payroll deduction program. MELINDA HECKROTTE VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR Melinda joined Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service in August as Volunteer Coordinator. With a variety of administration experience, Melinda looks after volunteers in Armidale, Barraba, Bingara, Glenn Innes, Guyra, Inverell, Manilla, Nundle/Hanging Rock, Quirindi, Tamworth and Walcha. She has a Bachelor of Science, a Certificate in Meetings and Events and Frontline Management. Melinda with her husband Michael and two children, have lived in several locations across Australia but are now happy to call the New England North West home. In the last issue of Rescue, we spoke about some changes to our team. Following are some short introductions of each.
