Northern NSW : Spring 2012
Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service - Rescue Spring 2012 Page 7 Supporting business Information technology is an integral part of all our lives including the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. Without it, we would not be able to coordinate our missions, keep in contact with our many supporters or even produce this quarterly newsletter. In the past few months, the Service has been working with the experienced teams at Ipera Communications Pty Ltd and Forsythes IT & Training to upgrade our server and network infratructure. As long term business partners of the Service both organisations have generously discounted their services. Ipera has provided an off-site server infrastructure at a heavily discounted rate. This is in addition to its discounted network services, which have been in place for a number of years. Forsythes IT has managed the upgrade project and has been a long term supporter of ours. It also discounts its ongoing maintenance and service rates. The Rescue Helicopter is fortunate to have many valued partnerships with organisations across its footprint that provide discount and free services in business services such as communication, recruitment, legal, accounting, print and design areas. Additionally many organisations in the aviation and engineering sectors provide discounts and free of charge work to the Service. It is this type of generosity that allows the Service to use funds raised for its core business – helping to save people’s lives. Ron Munday celebrated his 85th birthday by giving a gift to the Rescue Helicopter. Over the past five years, Ron has generously donated $260,000 to the Service, while also giving to the Glen Innes VRA Rescue Squad. After his wife passed away just over 12 months ago, he also donated to the Heart Foundation. Ron who owns a property out of Glen Innes with a small herd of cattle gives to organisations that he believes helps so many others. Happy Birthday Ron and many thanks for your support of our local community.
