Northern NSW : Autumn 2011
New England North West Fly-Around Between December 8 and 10, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the New England North West Service organised a fly-around of schools and mining sites in the service region. More than 12 schools were visited as a part of the fly- around. A big thank you to the staff and children at these schools for their fundraising efforts, generosity and beautiful manners. As part of the fly-around the Service also visited the generous staff and management at Whitehaven Coal sites in Werris Creek, the Gunnedah Basin and Narrabri North. All have been long-standing supporters of our Service. In the past twelve months staff wage deductions have totalled over $37,000. These contributions are matched by their employer, Whitehaven Coal Limited, demonstrating the company’s commitment to mine safety and the local community.
