Northern NSW : Summer 2011
On the last Sunday in October 300 mountain bike riders gathered in Walcha for a number of challenging rides of either 10, 30, 70 or 90kms. This event, now in its 4th year is part of the Walcha Mountain Festival at Walcha Showground and is the major attraction for the arts and crafts, food, wine tasting and fashion stalls. Five teams rode in the 90km extreme won by Single Track Minds 2 of Tony Wilson, Patrick Lane and Scott Steward in 4 hours 11 mins. Many thanks go to major sponsor JobLink Plus who has been supporting this event since it began and to Walcha Council and Brian Smith Timber Transport. Many other businesses, local and regional supported the event which enables the Service to keep its fundraising costs to a minimum. The event raised $20,000.
