Volunteer recognition Sharyn Holt Guyra Volunteer Shar yn Holt has been recognised for her commitment to the Guyra community, being named Citizen of the Year for 2010. The award was presented by Australia Day Ambassador for the Guyra Shire, Warren Potent, at the Australia Day Awards dinner held at the Guyra Bowling and Recreation Club in late Januar y. Sharyn has been an active in the Guyra Community for many years, offering her time to a number of organisations. In addition to the Service, Sharyn is involved with the CWA, Red Cross, Rotary, the local soccer club, Black Mountain P & C and the Hospital Auxiliary. Shar yn has been a Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service volunteer with the Guyra Suppor t Group for the past ten years. Tamworth Base Powers Up The Honda Foundation and Tamworth’s Woodley Honda recently donated more than $4,000 worth of Honda power products to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Tamworth Base. The equipment will assist with the establishment and maintenance of the grounds. The products have already been put to good use by the crew, how were ver y excited to receive their new “toys”. The Honda Foundation provides assistance to local communities. The foundation draws funding from Honda Dealers and Honda Australia who donate $15 ($5 and $10 respectively) for every Honda car sold.
