Northern NSW : Winter 2011
Eddie and Gwen French reside at the Island Leisure Village, Anna Bay and have been selling raffle tickets for the Service since January 2002. During that time they have donated almost $50,000 to the Service. The couple recently visited the Newcastle Base and enjoyed a tour with air crewman Glen Ramplin. Members of the Cessnock Volunteer Support Group including Bruce Matthews, Lorainne Corcoran, Patsy Black and Colin Springbett, pictured, worked tirelessly to garner support from the donors, sponsors and golfers at the Mineworker’s Golf Championship recently, raising $12,000 for the Service. Three-year-old Owen Shoesmith of Gunnedah was one of hundreds of people who attended Charity Golf Days for the Service in the New England North West recently.
