Almost 50 people took part in the second Tamworth to the Tops (TTTT) for 2016 and all agreed it was a great weekend on 15 and 16 October. Entrants were treated to spectacular scenery throughout the Barrington Tops along a route that went via Ellerston to Bretti. Sponsors and supporting organisations included Pacific National, Leicht’s Tyre and Auto, Tamworth 4x4 and Ironman 4x4. For the 18 vehicles taking part it was another mystery weekend for adults and kids taking it all in. More than $8,000 was raised. Top weekend Trucks on show The 24th annual Transport Awareness Day was a great success boosted by a change of venue and the addition of a Truck Show. The event was held at Maitland Showground on 22 September with increased sponsorship and great crowds who braved more than 17mm of rain. Road Transport Awareness Group Chairman Pete Black said that the committee reinvigorated the event at a new venue to accommodate increased participation from the transport industry with loads more entertainment, food and more than 100 big rigs on show.
