Northern NSW : Rescue Spring 2016
Diamonds and pearls Jewels of Arabia More than 100 people donned their finest to support the inaugural ‘The Diamonds & Pearls’ Inverell Support Group Ball on 19 August. The event was the idea of local hairdresser and owner of Salon Expresso, Sarah Kennedy, who generously provided major sponsorship along with support from One Stop Wedding and Event Hire Inverell, and Graphics by Jewels. Held at the RSM Club the gala night included great music, fundraising activities and a popular auction which all helped to raise $7,000. The Armidale Bowling Club provided the venue and additional support along with Treasury Wines and media partners 2AD and FM100.3. During the event the Service’s CEO, Richard Jones, acknowledged the efforts and thanked long term volunteer Pam Wilby who marked 15 years of dedicated service with the Armidale Volunteer Support Group. Organisers say the weekend provided great penning event viewing and entertainment and could not have happened without the overwhelming help and support from the Manilla community. One of the most popular highlights was the auction which raised more than $8,000.
