Northern NSW : Rescue Winter 2016
It was another sell-out crowd for the annual Tamworth Golf Day with 180 players competing in the four man ambrose on 6 May. Described as one of the biggest events on the social calendar, teams travelled from as far as Newcastle and Brisbane to tee off at the Tamworth Golf Course and help raise $21,000. Best on the day was the Insurance House team, just beating the foursome from Roadwork Industries. It’s the fourth year Darren McKenzie and his team at Capital Body Works has been the major sponsor of the event. Other supporters included Gough Transport Solutions, Palfinger, KCE, Steggles, The Pub Group, Sibelco and the Central Coast Alliance comprising of Insurance House, Avro Metaland, Bishop Collins and Priority Business Lawyers. Our community Tamworth tee off Port to Port The annual four-day MTB stage race from 26 to 29 May was designed to be fun and challenging for riders of all levels. More than 530 participants registered for the event that began at Nelson Bay then moved through the Hunter Valley to Cooranbong, then onto Cams Wharf before finishing at Dixon Park. The Service was the chosen charity and the chopper was called twice to transport riders. About 200 people helped raise $2,000 to support the work of the Rescue Helicopter during the Gravesend Team Penning and Arena Sorting event last year. Held at the Gravesend Recreation Ground near Warialda, the competition was organised by the dedicated Gravesend Rodeo and Campdraft Committee with the program featuring experienced riders working against the clock to separate cattle into pens.
