Northern NSW : Rescue Winter15
Opal Aged Care donated $4,616.50 to the Service after staging a successful two-day fete on the first weekend in April. It was another great example of community spirit, but in a true display of humility the residents thanked the Service crew and staff for taking the time to chat. ‘We thoroughly enjoyed meeting you all. Till next year x,’ was their message. Age shall not weary Merry weather and merry times Cliff Marsh, Trevor Morton, Richard Jones, Mike Rabbitt and Feargal McKenna Conditions were perfect for the 29 teams taking part in the annual Hunter Golf Day at Merewether Golf Club on 23 February. This event has been going for 22 years with Sibelco as a sponsor for the whole time. What a fantastic effort. Special thanks to event sponsors Sibelco and Veolia, and hole sponsors, Westpac, Priority Business Lawyers, Bishop Collins, Diamond IT, AWU, Engage Property, B&B Total Supplies, PKF Lawler and Monteath & Powys. As it has been doing for many years Drayton’s Family Wines donated the wine on course and for the lunch. The day would not have been such a success without the WRHS Volunteers. Our Community A series of educational videos to help reduce fatalities on NSW roads has taken out a national award for Newcastle production company Good Eye Deer. Much of the filming was conducted in the Hunter and features interviews with Service crew. The seven-part series, Your Keys, Your Choice, Your Consequences is part of the Traffic Offenders Intervention Program (TOIP) run by Police Citizens Youth Clubs NSW (PCYC). Service contributes to award-winning video All up, 116 players participated in what was a very enjoyable day that raised $23,000.
