Northern NSW : Rescue Winter15
Treasured memories Thomas Michael Lee THE Service enjoys receiving emails, letters and photographs from those we assist. Please enjoy some of the most recent. On Tuesday 10th February 2015, our first little precious baby was born in Glen Innes. Unfortunately, he was born with breathing difficulties and required assistance from the NETS team. He was due to be lifted from Glen Innes to John Hunter, but thankfully he improved enough to only need to be transported to Armidale. We are eternally grateful to this amazing service and will be forever indebted to you. Without this incredible service, I’d hate to think where we would be now. Thomas will treasure his helicopter and we will never forget how compassionate, caring and skilled your helicopter pilots are. Please pass on our appreciation to the two pilots involved in Thomas’s retrieval. Mick and Nikki Lee Glen Innes Postbag Today we went to the Westpac Helicopter base. They have a big torch to see at night and special glasses that make it seem like it is day. The community owns the helicopter. We asked lots of questions. The helicopters’ colours are red and yellow. They never run out of fuel because they always check they have enough of it and they dressed one of the other kids up in the helicopters’ uniform. She looked very funny. We went on the bus to get there. I sat next to Ella and Shiloh. Olivia and Harry did a speech. In their eyes One of the most rewarding activities for the staff and crews of the Service is when young children visit the bases to see the helicopters. After a visit the kindergarten students of Tamworth Public School were encouraged to send the crew reports. Thanks to the teachers of kindergarten we received a number of reports – this one is from Amelia age six. 10 Rescue Magazine WINTER 2015
