Northern NSW : Rescue - Spring 2014
4. Glennies Creek mine On 28 June the Glennies Creek Coal Mine officially closed after 15 years of operation. The miners generously made a donation of $10,000 to the Rescue Helicopter. We thank them for their support. 5. Quirindi Ball On Saturday 8 March Quirindi hosted its 14th annual Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Ball. The crowd was dressed to the nines in bold colours and feathers for the ball’s carnival theme. In keeping with the theme, Sydney magician, Brendan Mon Tanner impressed the crowd with his jaw dropping magical talents. 6. Race-day success On Thursday 3 July race goers enjoyed an unseasonably warm sunny day at Wyong Race Course for the Central Coast’s annual Charity Race Day for the Rescue Helicopter. More than $15,000 was raised on the day. Sponsors included ACS Integrated Service Provider, Advance Design, Wideline Windows & Doors, Bishop Collins Chartered Accountants, Farrar Legal and The Dam Hotel. 7. Tamworth to the tops Mystery was the name of the game when the inaugural Tamworth to the Tops 4WD Adventure was held in March. Adventure participants were only provided with itineraries and driving routes each morning prior to starting time over the two-day event. 4 5 6 7 9 Rescue Magazine SPRING 2014
